Have you ever craved a dish from a specific time? For me, it's the Gion Duck Rice at Kyoto, Japan, that I had two years ago. It was a unique dining experience in an underground, small and cozy 7-seater open kitchen restaurant serving up just one dish that they specialise which is their duck hitsumabushi, located on the busy streets of Gion. 

🪸 Koral: Bali’s First Aquarium Restaurant | Bali eats

Before going to Bali in 2023, I made a booking at Koral: Bali’s First Aquarium Restaurant for one obvious reason, it was an aquarium dining experience, and no one in my family had ever been to one before, so I thought this would be the perfect occasion to book this experience and enjoy it together.

Located in the heart of Seminyak and close to Petitenget Temple, Shrimpis is a nautical-themed restaurant with cute decors matching the theme, where it offers a wide range of seafood on its menu with global flavours! They have everything from fish, lobsters, king prawns, calamari and even oysters, which are all locally sourced, freshly caught and prepared. 

It's a perfect spot to escape the hot humid weather, as it has a cosy and comfortable atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. We also spotted a stray cat hanging around too. 

Harry Hedgehog Cafe 🦔

As most of my uni friends were leaving a little earlier on our Japan trip, one of the last activities we did was visit a harinezumi cafe or more commonly known as hedgehog cafe. We decided to go to the Harry Hedgehog cafe located in Roppongi as it would be easier for my friends to head towards the airport right after. 

Beginners Guide to Tokyo Disneysea 🎢

Today I'll be sharing my adventure and itinerary guide to Tokyo DisneySea as I've managed to recovered almost all my data from my broken hard drive. Around this time last year I went to Tokyo DisneySea for the very first time with my uni friends, where we booked our 1-Day Passport ticket through the official website. I applied the usual tips and tricks when planning for a full day at a theme park but since I've only ever been to Disneyland and my friend, Florence, who has been to DisneySea, we made sure to get the full experience out of this day.

Universal Studio Japan 🎠 // Purchase your Express Ticket

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is always on the top of my "to go" list whenever I'm visiting Osaka, Japan as I love going to theme parks and playing on the rides. The last few times I went to USJ I would book my theme park tickets prior to travelling to Japan as I didn't want the hassle of queuing up early on the day to purchase the 1 Day Studio Pass and Express 7* pass which are limited for purchase each day. 

A short food trip to Nagoya 🍣 🍨

En-route to Toyko from Takayama, we decided to spend half a day in Nagoya, which is the largest city in the Chubu region and is the capital of the Aichi Prefecture located on the Pacific coast. Once we got to the station we were surrounded by massive shopping centres connected all around the station. I even found an official Studio Ghibli store so I had to check it out and purchase some merchandises. After shopping my friends and I went our separate ways and split into two groups, the group that continues shopping at Nagoya station and my group, where we were on the hunt for good food! Food is always my priority, which is why Ardi, Florence and I took the train and travelled two stops away to Hisayaodori for fresh sashimi and sushi! 

MORI BUILDING DIGITAL ART MUSEUM - TEAMLAB BORDERLESS REVIEW 🎡

The most popular and interactive digital art museum in Tokyo, Mori Building Digital Art Museum - Teamlab Borderless, has attracted attention worldwide and was on the top of my "To do" list when visiting Tokyo this time round. The museum was created between Mori Building and TeamLab where the interactive artworks have no border separating them from one another and some even extend beyond their own zone and into corridors to create a new experience for visitors which can only be found at this museum. 

Guide to Japan // Basic Travel Tips 101 ヾ(๑’౪`๑)ﾉﾞ

In 2015 I got the opportunity to travel to Japan twice and the experiences from my earlier Winter trip have made it so much easier to get around Japan when I went again, for their Summer. 

Throughout both trips there are a few basic tips and tricks that I picked up along the way to make a more smooth sailing adventure, so below I've put together my guidelines which hopefully you will find helpful when you plan a trip to Japan. Also read my generalised [Travelling the World //Preparation] guide. 

What to pack for Japan // Winter & Summer edition o(*>ω<*)o

It has been a while since I last did a travel packing list as the last one was for "Summer in New Zealand". Today I'll be sharing both my Summer and Winter packing list for Japan, but there are a few things to keep a note of. One of them is whether you have access to a washing machine at your accommodation. The last 2 trips to Japan I stayed with AirBnB accommodations and we had a washing machines in most of our accommodation. This helped minimise my packing and allowed more room for my shopping!

Travelling the World // Preparation o(*≧□≦)o

I've travelled. I can't say I've travelled a lot, but I am in a happy place where I do get to travel as much as I can within my capabilities. Throughout my trips overseas, there are a few advice's, tips and tricks that I picked up along the way to make sure I was going to have an amazing journey and adventure. I have put together some notes which I always consider whenever I plan a trip overseas. In this case I'll be using my Japan 2015 Winter & Summer trip as an example for the below topics. 

Canyon Swinging, Shootover Jet & Skyline Adventures (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))

The next day in Queenstown we started our day bright and early as we headed down to our meet up spot to go Canyon Swinging and go on the shootover jet. We were a small group of 6, taken up the mountains via a small coach. We arrived at our location after a 10-15 minute drive, and I must say it is quite the sight!There was a group before us, so we watched as they jumped off and swung down the canyon. Once the platform was cleared and ready for us to go, we started to suit up into our harnesses and headed down to the canyon. 

First time in the Blue Mountains // Leura hike & the 3 sisters!

A few weeks ago I went to the Blue Mountains for the first time ever! My partner and friends took me to Leura, as we wanted to explore and hike around that area.

We went on the Leura Cascades walk where we went through the dry land and forests. I shall let my photos do most the talking for me in this post. 

 The Leura cascade was quite peaceful and beautiful too! 

I also have a thing where I like to take photos of wild mushrooms that grow in the bush lands! Its somewhat mysterious and intriguing. 

We had a quick rest at Gordons Fall Lookout, which was absolutely breathtaking! Of course we had to take some photos of both the scenery and us with the scenery too!

Then of course group photo time! I placed my camera on timer to capture this shot~ 

As we were nearing our hike, we were amazed by this huge waterfall before us! It was exciting and wonderful!  

The waters lead down towards another small waterfall in a more green environment. 

We finished our hike around 4pm and went to take a look at the famous Three sisters! It was my first time seeing it and it was another beautiful sight that Sydney has! This made me appreciate more of my hometowns beauty and also got me excited for more beautiful spots there are to hike at!

Good evening everyone!! I apologize for not blogging much the last few days! I had been quite busy with my jobs and balancing time with friends. Also, I just started my full time job today and OMG! I'm already pooped out! HAH! But I am looking forward for more interesting days to come as today I just sat in front of the computer watching training videos~ I shall update on my jobs another time, as for now I'm going to relax and enjoy my evening!

Off to Queenstown // Brunching at Vudu Café & Larder ヾ（〃＾∇＾）ﾉ♪

The next day, we were off to the airport as we headed towards Queenstown!

It was a quick flight, with beautiful mountainous scenery along the way. We even saw a rainbow before we landed too! 

By the time we landed in Queenstown, we were starving!!! We went and got our car at the car rental's, then made our way to our backpacking lodge for the night!

Along the way to Queenstown CBD, we saw the beautiful mountains and clouds that were passing by! We were hoping that the rain would past by quickly so our adventures wouldn't be ruined. 

Once we checked-into our place and left our luggage's, we went out for food! We came across this cute little cafe and decided to grab a bite here.

This place had the cutest and yummiest food on display!! It was hard to choose what to eat from their menu and displayed dishes!!

Both my partner and I had ordered our own dish to eat. We didn't get any coffee, but I did get some tea instead. 

My partner ordered the Organic Beef Burger with dried mushroom rub, caramelised onion jam, rocket, farmerhouse cheese, housemade bbq sauce and agria fries (NZ$20). The burger was quite lovely and the patty was succulent and juicy too. 

I ordered the Sumac Roasted Chicken salad with bulgar, parsley, shaved almonds, pine nuts, roast cherry tomato and zucchini tzatziki (NZ$20). It was quite a refreshing yet filling dish! The roasted chicken was very tender and juicy too! 

Last of all I had to ordered the chocolate truffle with pistachio and raspberry! It was super delicious and a delightful little snack!!

I clearly enjoyed that ball of deliciousness and I miss them heaps!

I know I keep apologising for not posting as much here on my blog, but I have been super busy the last two weeks with constant interviews and all.
