Kayaking in the storm // Tongariro National Park -Taranaki Falls Hike (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

The following day was our first gloomy and slightly wet day and I could finally put my poncho, that I had brought along, to good use. Our first activity of the day was kayaking around the Moari Carvings in Taupo!

We had the morning session with our instructor/guide and another couple from Germany. The water was quite warm and still as we started our journey to the Maori carvings.

It started to drizzle as we slowly approached the Maori carvings and we took a few photos before we left. My boyfriend decided to jump off a cliff as if didn't look all to high, but he did say when he got up there is was quite a height!

On the journey back, the struggle was REAL! I mean look at my face!! We were fighting the storm and waves but because our kayaks had a motor we were able to cut through the water swiftly. However our motor would stop working because our kayak would jump over the waves and the propellers weren't in water. It was a tough journey back as I had to fight the pain in my arms and by the end of it they were so wrecked! After we had a quick snack back on land, we were then headed off towards the Whakapapa Visitor Centre so we could go on a hike in Tongariro National Park.

Because of the weather, it was advised to see which are the safer hiking routes to take and we lucky for us, the route we originally wanted to do was still up and running. We did the Tranaki Falls track which is 6.45km loop.

We began our hike and along the way we saw alpine grassland, beech forests and other amazing landscapes such as nearby mountains and volcanoes! Let my photos do the talking for me!

When we came to this mini water fall many, who had also went on the Taranaki Falls hike that day, thought this was the falls (as did we!) and turned back as it started to drizzle.

However my partner and I continued through the wind, rain and fog as we thought we were halfway. We realised when we reached higher grounds that we were not half way at all. In the far sight we could see a water fall rushing by! That's when we realised those who saw the mini fall and turned back had actually missed the main attraction of this hike!

Taranaki Falls plunges about 20 meters from volcanic cliffs into a pleasant pool. We went down to get a closer view of the water fall and also take some awesome shot!
As we continued our journey to complete the hike, the fog got heavier but the view was absolutely amazing! It was just breathless despite that it looked a bit creepy!

Once we had successfully completed our 2.5 hours of hiking (30mins more than suggested because we took our time taking photos!) we went to the nearby hotel for a hot beverage to warm ourselves up! Then it was back on the road!! There is another hike here in Tongariro National Park that we were really interested in, but it is a 4 day hike, which we were limited on, so the next time I come to New Zealand I will definitely be challenging myself even more to do the 4 day hike!

The Choc Pot // Lava fondant cravings! (๑♡⌓♡๑)

Nowadays, whenever I get a huge chocolate crave and I have none sitting at home, I love going to the Choc Pot to get me some of their signature dessert, the choc pot. It is a freshly baked fondant, which requires you to wait patiently for 10 minutes, while it cooks!

Another reason why I would choose to come to The Choc Pot first is because I live so close to Chatswood (as it is the closest franchise near me!), it literally takes 10-15 minutes for me to get there!

The first time I ever came here was with my boyfriend and we ordered the S'more Nuts waffle. It was pretty good, so I couldn't wait for my next visit to try their signature dish! You can see my excitement in the photo above, as it was my second time coming here!

I also ordered a side of strawberries and banana's to go with the fondant, as both those fruits go so well with chocolate!

The fondant is served warm and  you can really smell the aromas of the cocoa. I love the texture of the lava-like fondant which literally spreads across you palette and envelops your mouth! It has such a beautiful smooth, moist and gooey texture and it's not overly sweet!

We also ordered their Lord of the Crepes and boy was this good too!! The praline spread with crispy wafers bits inside the crepe gave a nice crunch to it and taste wonderful with their vanilla whipped cream. The strawberries were a taste of refreshness when you needed a break from all those stronger tastes.

Cannot wait to come back again and have their choc pot fondant and their other crepes and waffles!!

New Zealand to explore Kerosene Creek & Huka Falls (❁´▽`❁)*✲゚*

After our white water rafting adventure, we were back on the road heading toward Kerosene Creek.

The Keroene Creek is geothermal heated stream where you can take a dip and relax. The hot water is from a natural spring under the earth, that bubbles up the cool waters, leaving it pleasantly warm.

Luscious nature is all around and there is no admission charge either! So make sure you bring your swimmers to enjoy this creek, however you may find some skinny-dippers there too, so just a warning!
Then we continued our journey down south towards Taupo, stopping at Huka Falls to see the charging waters rush through! The water was so beautiful, it had a ombre effect from frothy white waters to a dark aqua blue!

We could see the small specks of water particles that were being lifted by then win as it ran down through the fall! After taking a few, photos we headed towards Taupo and checked into our lodge that evening.

You can watch our enjoyable dip in Kerosene Creek and hear the loud crashes of the waters of Huka Falls below!

Beginners Guide to Colour Contacts and Circle Lens // Part 2 - Circle Len vs Colour Contacts o(^∀^*)o

3 years ago I blogged about differentiating between real and fake colour contact brands and since I have been doing more and more reviews on circle lens this year I decided to share with you guys part 2 of what you need to know about colour contacts and circle lens!
A friend of mine, recently got interested into the colour contact lens fashion and asked me a whole bunch of information regarding about them, since I have been wearing them for a long time now. So welcome to the second instalment of my "Beginners Guide to Colour Contacts and Circle Lens" where I will be covering the lens information in general and also address some sub-topics in today's post which will include, Circle Len vs. Colour Contacts, designs, lens life span and prices.

1) Circle Len vs. Colour Contacts

Q. What is the difference between circle lens and colour contact lens, aren't they the same thing?
A. Well coloured contact lenses will only change the colour of your iris when worn and they do not have any enlarging effect. Colour contacts are not so popular but are sometimes seen used in Western movies. On the other hand, circle lens are immensely popular amongst the Gyaru, Ulzzang, Kpop and Cosplay world. They tend to have a darker rim around the lens design making your eyes look larger and at the same time changing the colour of your iris.

2-i-) Design-Colours
There are huge amounts of different designs of both colour contact lens and circle lens, but here I will be focusing more on circle lens.
It really depends on what look you are trying to achieve as each brand will have similar colours but very different designs of how the colour is put together. Some will have a blend of 2 shades while others with 3. Additionally how natural or vibrant the lens will look like will depend on how the design of the lens are e.g. grainy, crystallize, solid, ombre, etc. Some may even incorporate a few designs into one lens!

For example: EOS A3 Bambi Cookies Brown Contact Lens VS. HoliCat Barbie Brown

2-ii-) Design-Sizes
Another important note about the design of the lens is the sizing! The diamter size of the lens can also make a difference on how they appear on the eye and how much they give you the enlarging effect. The sizes can range from 14.2mm to 16mm. However I like to stay between the 14.2mm-14.5mm range as they feel more comfortable on my eyes.

3) Life Span
Knowing the life span of the circle lens you currently own is an extremely important information. There are two dates that you must remember, first being the date of expiry (mm/yy), which is recommended on the packaging of the lens. The second date is to know how long the circle lens last for once you open them up and use the. There are yearly, monthly and daily life span lens that you can choose from, which may depend on your lifestyle, style and/or comfort.
E.G.

Daily lens are much softer and breathable, plus you do not need to disinfect or soak the lens as they are sterile when you open them from the package as they will not be re-used. These are a great option if you plan on wearing them for certain activities or only on weekends.
Monthly lens require little or no cleaning and are usually made of made of silicone hydrogel with high oxygen permeability which allows the cornea to breathe, keeping it healthy.
Yearly lens require much more attention!! Cleaning it often is necessary to keep your eyes safe from infections or bacteria! They feel much thicker and not as soft compared to the daily and monthly lens, which is why it is best to bring eye drops to rehydrate the eyes when they start to feel dry. However the use of these lens are much cheaper in comparison.
I highly recommend trying the monthly lens to begin with and see how you go first. Then go out and experiment with the other life span options and see how comfortable you are wearing them, as this is entirely on personal preferences. However I personally prefer either daily or monthly lens as they are much thinner and breathable as I find my eyes tend to get dry easily these days, but it's nothing eye drops cannot fix.

iv) Prices
Prices will vary depending on the brand and life span of each lens, but lets take the two examples from above again! The EOS A3 Bambi Cookies Brown Contact Lens are 1 year disposal whereas the HoliCat Barbie Brown are 1 month disposal. Below is the calculations on how much they would cost you each week.
Many will tend to buy the 1 year disposal ones because they seem to be much cheaper, however, it really does depend how often you intend to wear the lens and the comfort of the lens.

Hopefully all this information will give you an idea of what lens will suit your lifestyle and makes it easier for you to shop when you're wanting to purchase some circle lens. I will write the third instalment next time which will be regarding on how to wear your lens and keep them clean. Also if you want to know what lens I am wearing in all my photos or have any questions that I may not have answered in this guide, leave a comment below and I will get back to you!
