Snorkeling on Green Island // Swimming with a Sea Snake & Moray Eel?! (*/ω\*)

Continuing my adventure in Port Douglas, we were picked up by our coach early the following morning and headed off Cairns. As soon as we got to Cairns we had about 2 hours to spare before our next Snorkelling tour so we walked around the area and went for a coffee run.

I ordered an iced coffee, which came with a white chocolate wafer stick. The drink itself was alright, but nothing special.

We continued our walk around town until it was time to head to our Green Island tour.

We got to the docks on time, and there were a lot of Chinese tour groups and Japanese tourist hopping onto the boat to go to Green Island too.

Our tour was with Big Cats, where we get a return boarding ticket for the boat ride to Green Island and a buffet lunch when we arrive.

The boat ride to Green island was so beautiful! The water so clear and blue too!

I managed to catch a glimpse of a turtle splashing on the surface before diving back into the water, as we approached the island.

Once we got onto the island, Mr.Smiles and I took a few snaps and headed straight towards the buffet dining boat, while the Chinese tourist were taking photos and selfie's. This gave us enough time to beat the crowd.

However, when it was our turn to get our food, the Chinese tourist swarmed in and just pushed ahead of everyone else lining up, putting their faces right up against the food to smell it. They were incredibly rude, even the staff on the boat seemed annoyed because they were not listening to the rules.

Nevertheless, we ate quickly so we could get away from this crowd and enjoy our swim. Their curry was pretty good I must say!

We headed straight towards the beach once we were done with lunch and off we went for a snorkel and hoping to see a turtle or two this time round.
I was amazed yet slightly scared when I saw this school of fish. They were swimming in peacefully under the pier.

The boyfriend, Mr.Smiles managed to capture an amazing shot of this yellow fish!

We even got to see this moray eel! It was  under the rock and decided to come out before noticing we were there. It swam back into the rock because they are quite shy creature. The one we saw was really big too! Kind of creepy looking but it was amazing!

This was my second snorkel adventure and I have to saw it was so much more interesting because I got to see more sea life compared to the last one. We didn't see any turtles but I got to see a stingray, various fishes and even a school of them, moray eel and even a sea snake too! We just noticed a orangey snake-shape like creature swimming around, so we quickly swam away from it because, one, we didn't want to disturb it, two, I don't like snakes and three, all sea snakes are poisonous. At the end of the day we got back onto the boat and headed back to our hotel to freshen up for diner.

Today I really didn't do as much as I would of loved too..All I did was my studies and watched a few movies online. Last night I managed to watch Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, it was alright I suppose. It wasn't terrible but nor was it very engaging? The second movie I watched before I went to bed was the Good Dinosaur. I have to say it is one of the cutest animated movies I have watched so far. Within the first 20 minutes I was crying, 10 minutes later I was laughing! I really enjoyed the concept of the movie and it looked as if they used real life scenery and placed the animated characters into it. Anyway I highly recommend watching it if you haven't already, it's such a beautiful story!

Daintree Rainforest-Cape Tribulatin via. Mossman Gorge Tour °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

The following day in Port Douglas, we were off on a tour to see the Daintree rainforest.

First stop we visited the Mossman Gorge. We saw the water, which was still and clear.

We were surrounded entirely by nature and all its beauty!

We were on the tour with people from the US, Germany and France.

My zen-mode shot, which I also posted on my instagram account too.

We then walked through the Daintree forest, where we learnt about the creatures that lived here and also the trees.

Can you see the two snake-like lizards!! They were out to enjoy the heat that day!

We then moved the information centre, where some of us had a toilet break before we hopped onto our cruise across the Daintree river! While we were waiting for our group members, we noticed some green tree frogs hanging around inside.

Time to move onto our cruise!! We were excited to see some crocodiles but during the summer they don't like to come out to play that much.

Luckily for us we managed to catch a glimpse of this massive croc swimming by! The boat behind us just missed him by a few minutes.

Plus our ride was more fun, because we had the owners pet dog on board with us! He was our lookout guard dog....well not really..he posed for a bit then went to the back of the boat, picking up sticks from the water. It's his favourite thing to do.

We then were off to Cape Tribulation. It looked so beautiful and made you want to go for a swim here! Here's a few more photos of the place.

When our guide had finished telling the story behind this location we headed off to find our picnic spot for lunch!

We had coffee/tea, muffins, steak and salad too! So much food for us all.

After lunch, it was time for dessert...well kind of. We were introduced to the green ants, where you can lick their bright green butts and it will taste lemony! So of course we had to give it a go!! Boy was it sour and it was my first time licking a butt....

As we finished up lunch, we then got changed into our swimmers as we were able to take a dip in the daintree forest waters, which was of course crocodile-free!

The water was crystal clear but the rocks were quite slippery so it can be a bit hard to climb over them. The current that day was a bit strong so great for a back massage haha!

Our final stop of the tour was ICE-CREAM! The ice-cream made at the Daintree ice-cream store are all made from real fruits which are grown in their front yard orchards of various fruits!! We got their 3 flavours of the day which were pineapple mango, passionfruit and wattle seed! It was super delicious!! Highly recommend it if you ever pass by!

Snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef // ╭(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و Port Douglas Trip

Our second day we woke up bright and early to get ready for our snorkelling and diving in the Great Barrier Reef tour with Poseidon.

Our tour comes with free morning tea and lunch too!

The boat sped through the water, while the wind rushed through my hair!

It was then time to grab our snorkel gear on and explore three different snorkelling spots. My boyfriend did diving, as he already has his diving certificate from a while back.

As you can tell in the photo above, the weather was hot and sunny yet the waters were quite peaceful and blue.

However there were small waves that day so it wasn't a smooth snorkel adventure. Don't I look sexy in this outfit, I mean look at my sleepy eyes!!

Lunch was served between our second and third snorkelling/diving spot and there was a fruit platter, fresh prawns, pasta salad, buns, cheese and crackers too. As for our drinks hot cocoa, tea or coffee was available.

Once we finished up lunch, we were off to our final snorkel/diving spot. I really enjoyed my day out in the sea and exploring all the wonderful sea life. I saw sea cucumbers, star fishes, giant clams, corals, sharks, rays and many assorted colourful fishes too. Here are a few photos from both snorkelling and diving that we took with my GoPro camera. The colours were not that great due to the light.

Can you spot nemo, the clown fish!! Such a bright orange colour!

After a long day out at sea it was time to come back home. That's when I found out I actually get seasick if I stay inside the boat because it's stuffy...

Well you can watch my snorkelling adventures in the ocean here. You can catch a glimpse of the Great Barrier Reef and what me and my boyfriend saw there!
