Breakfast at Sokyo // Another morning munch with mum (*・▽・*)
So by now you probably know that my mum and I love eating at Sokyo,
especially my mum. If she could she would have breakfast, lunch and dinner there all in one day. So the first time I went here was last year boxing day and I didn't have an appetite cause I was so tired but this time round was different. I was hungry and ready to eat!
Starting off they have their continental buffet breakfast, where they have a selection of light breakfast foods, such as fruits, yogurt, crackers, congee, cheese, bread, juice, etc. Also I apologize about the quality of the photos I had to snap them with my phone as I didn't bring my camera along with me.
My favourite so far is their Traditional Choushoku breakfast, which comes with the fish of the day, miso soup, chawanmushi, Hokkaido yumepirika rice, nori and Japanese pickles. Their fish is always perfectly grilled and the taste is light yet full of flavour. I ordered this the last two times I came here.
Another dish that my mum ordered the last two times was their seafood bowl. It comes with Glacier 51 tooth fish, salmon, octopus, flying fish roe, cucumber, beni shoga, Hokkaido yumepirika rice and onsen tamago. Another light and refreshing dish with the flavours of the fresh fish and seasoning.
The dishes that are produced at Sokyo are always amazing in taste and quality of ingredients. I cannot wait to come back again for breakfast as they have just added a new dish, their Pork Katsu sandwich to the breakfast menu. At the moment the best place for pork katsu sandwich, in my opinion, is at Cafe Oratnek, so I cannot wait to taste Sokyo's one and compare the two!

Breakfast at Sokyo // Sydney eats (❁´▽`❁)*✲゚*
I have been to Sokyo since it first opened and have been in love with their food since. When I heard about their breakfast menu I was so eagered to go try the food. I finally got the chance to on Boxing Day as my mum wanted to have breakfast there (as she has been a few times already, and loves the food too!).
As I was having some small eats, my main arrived. I ordered the Akashiyaki, which includes Binchotan grille octopus, omelette, butter roasted Kipfler potato, créme fraiche, white soy micro greens and niban-dashi. This dish was not what I would expect it to be, taste-wise I thought it would be more flavourful. However, I wasn't feeling too well that morning, so I didn't have much of an appetite to begin with.
My mum ordered the Bimbimbap, which includes 48 hour wagyu beef cheek, pickled mushroom, yamagobo, spinach, zucchini, bean sprouts, steamed Hokkaido yumepirika rice, fried egg and gochujang terriyaki. It was an enjoyable dish to have with all the flavors and textures mix together.
Before we left, I picked up two mini muffins from the buffet because of their flavors, which were black sesame and matcha. I really enjoyed the black sesame muffin! Plus they were both really moist and packed with flavor!

It's really warming up here in Sydney and I cannot believe only 7 days until I go on a mini vacation up north, to the Gold Coast! Super excited to be going there in forever!! I use to go there every month as a kid with my cousins and relatives, where we enjoyed all the theme parks~!!

Truffle Month | Sokyo Japanese Restaurant (ó㉨ò)

I enjoyed the smooth texture which just melted in your mouth as for flavors with the truffles not so much but it wasn't too bad.

I wasn't a fan of these tempura but the display of the dish was beautiful.

My favorite truffle dish of the night! The meat was perfectly cooked as every bite melted away.

This was quite an interesting dessert when it was eaten with the truffles but I must say nothing beats their Ice-cream Mochi!

Dining at SOKYO \(^▽^*)
Hello everyone!! It's been a while and i'm sorry i have been busy with my final exams but now that i just finished all my exams i can now get back to blogging regularly! Anyway today's blog entry is going to be a review on the Japanese Fusion Restaurant called SOKYO.
So i headed to Sokyo with my mum after a tiring day of shopping in the city.
Sokyo Ratings:
Location:★★★★★
The location is super easy to find which is located near The Darling hotels.
Level G, The Darling,
The Star,
80 Pyrmont Street,
Pyrmont, NSW, 2009
Menu: ★★★★☆
Their menu has all sorts of different and unique dishes and they even offer the traditional dishes.
Cost: ★☆☆☆☆
The cost of course is quite expensive. We ordered a total of 8 dishes which includes desert and cost in total of AUD$120. Luckily we had a coupon which allows us to have $50 off our total amount.
Overall: ★★★★☆
As our waitress said to us i would definitely like to come here every single day, if i had the money to, but unfortunately i'm not that rich to. The waiters/waitresses are really nice and thoughtful as they ask for your preferences such as strong flavors or simple fresh flavors. As for the food all the sauces is what makes the food simply amazingly delicious!! Love eating here and i definitely would want to come back again!
Kurobuta Black Pork Sashimi Ratings:
Taste: ★★★★★
Pork sashimi is definitely different and unique so i couldn't resist ordering this. The kurabuta sashimi was really nice!! It had dashi jelly and mache on top of the thinly sliced pork and the salted caramel sauce compliments the pork flavors really well!
Pork sashimi is definitely different and unique so i couldn't resist ordering this. The kurabuta sashimi was really nice!! It had dashi jelly and mache on top of the thinly sliced pork and the salted caramel sauce compliments the pork flavors really well!
Cost: ★★☆☆☆
This dish cost AUD$16, which is quite expensive for a relatively small-med sized dish
Highly recommend!!! Really loved eating this dish!!
Tai Yuzu Honey Ratings:
Taste: ★★★★★
These are Hokkaido scallops which has onion, capers, yuzu honey and crunchy miso. The flavors are super fresh and light to eat.
Cost: ★★★☆☆
This dish also cost AUD$16 and i find it an average sized dish.
Higly recommend this dish!! Has the perfect blend of flavors!!
Sanding White Ratings:
Taste: ★★★★☆
The tempura fishes were quite tasteless but the sauce was super amazing!!!! We really wanted to take some of the sauce home!!!
Cost: ★★★☆☆
This dish cost AUD$18 which i find an alright amount to pay but still a bit expensive.
I would recommend this dish just to try their sauce since their fish tempura didn't have any of it's natural flavors.
Taste: ★★★★★
The whole night this was my favorite dish from all the dishes we had ordered!! It may look like a simple plain salad but the dressing was amazing!! Once this dish was place onto our table the strong smell of sesame oil was super aromatic and the spicy garlic taste was that extra bonus to clean our system and made our appetite more hungry!!
Cost: ★★★★★
This dish was only AUD$6!! It was a huge dish of salad and i must say even though it might be a bit expensive for just some leaves but it's totally worth it because the dressing was simply amazing!!!
Highly recommend this dish to everyone!!! Amazing salad dressing ever!!!! I would totally get this for takeaway since they do offer takeaway!!
Taste: ★★☆☆☆
This dish was quite bitter and the mushroom was quite rubbery.
Cost: ★★★★★
This dish cost AUD$17 and i must say this dish is not worth it.
I wouldn't recommend this dish.
Taste: ★★☆☆☆
I was quite surprised that their traditional sushi rolls were not that nice. The rice didn't have that vingery rice taste.
Cost: ★★★☆☆
This dish cost AUD$13 which came with small 8 pieces.
This dish cost AUD$13 which came with small 8 pieces.
I won't recommend this dish as it's quite average.
Taste: ★★★★★
I loved the crispy rice and slight chilli tuna flavoring!!! Was really nice to eat!! Love this dish!
Cost: ★★★☆☆
This dish cost AUD$20 which is quite expensive for only small 4 pieces.
Regardless of the price it is definitely worth a try!
Taste: ★★★★★
I really loved this desert it is so fresh! There are a few different layers and when eaten together they taste AMAZING!!! I love everything about this desert. It is not on their official menu yet so i'm not sure if they still offer this but definitely ask if they have this desert!!
Cost: ★★★★★
This desert cost AUD$14!! Definitely worth it!
Highly recommend this even though it's not on their official menu yet so i'm not sure if they still offer this but definitely ask if they have this desert!!
♥♥♥♥♥
Now that i'm officially on holidays i'll definitely will be going back to the gym and dieting to lose those winter and spring fat which i have gained over the couple of months. I'll be going to the gym tomorrow with Miwari(aka LiSu) and be doing some filming too while we're at it! And i'll start filming more makeup tutorial video's soon!!
