🦐 Shrimpis Restaurant | Bali eats

Located in the heart of Seminyak and close to Petitenget Temple, Shrimpis is a nautical-themed restaurant with cute decors matching the theme, where it offers a wide range of seafood on its menu with global flavours! They have everything from fish, lobsters, king prawns, calamari and even oysters, which are all locally sourced, freshly caught and prepared.

It's a perfect spot to escape the hot humid weather, as it has a cosy and comfortable atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. We also spotted a stray cat hanging around too.

My brothers and I grabbed a quick bite, where we ordered their Beer Battered Shrimp, Tom Yum Gong, Nachos, Sashimi Shrimp, and Seafood Bisque. Before we dive right into it, to simplify the price conversion for this particular review, I'm using a 1:1 ratio, however, do note that the Australian dollar is stronger so the actual cost will be a little less than the listed price below.

Starting off the meal with their Sashimi Shrimp (RP 75,000/ AUD $7.50 per 100g). I found it incredibly interesting they used the weight of the shrimp to dictate the serving of the dish, so I was a little confused at first. We ordered two servings as my brothers and I are a huge fan of sashimi, especially when it comes to sweet shrimp. The shrimp sashimi were sweet and briny to taste, and the texture was tender, yet slightly firm, providing a very satisfying bite.

Next up were their Beer Battered Shrimps were freshly fried, big and juicy too! Plus they're famous for their seafood, specifically shrimp so of course we had to order them!

We also ordered Tong yum gong (seafood) soup, which had so much seafood available which was really filling. It came with a bowl of rice so you can enjoy a nice meal with just the soup and ingredients. It wasn't too spicy either, so those who can't eat chilli will be able to handle the flavours of this soup.

One of my favourites was their Seafood bisque with garlic crostini. The soup was full of seafood umami and incredibly rich, smooth yet heartwarming, and not too heavy for a hot day.

Our last main dish was their Nachos, as my brother was craving it. The overall flavours of the nacho dish were delicious and had a generous serving of toppings including the guacamole.

To wrap up lunch, they had an offer if you wrote a review they would offer a free dessert, so of course I took up this offer. I ordered their Chocolate Mousse which was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the berry sauce to pair with the dessert.

Overall the cosy atmosphere and friendly staff at Shrimpis make any customer feel relaxed and have an enjoyable time. Their service was prompt, and prices were quite reasonable here. Each dish was also quite delicious too, so can see myself returning here for a casual lunch.
