Dining at O-Sushi! // Gold Coast eats (∩❛ڡ❛∩)

Our last night in the Gold Coast we felt like Japanese food again, at a reasonable price compared to Mama-san. We went to a restaurant called O-Sushi! because we saw newspaper clippings that they have won a few awards. I ordered their plum wine which incredibly delicious and not overly sweet!

First dish we ordered was their pan seared scallops (AUD$15.50), it was well seasoned but a little overcooked which was a bit disappointing. However if they did cook this to perfection, I believe it would have tasted amazing.

Next up was their eye fillet beef tataki seared & finely sliced (AUD$14.50). I loved how they topped it with a lot of radish and shallots! The taste seem to be more fresher and balanced, but the texture of the meat is no way as close to the beef tataki at Sokyo. This beef tataki didn't have that "melt in your mouth" taste unlike the beef tataki at Sokyo. But, nevertheless, still well presented and well seared beef.

Crispy rice sushi topped with marinated salmon, avocado and roe (AUD$14.50), looks like a duplicate of the well-known crispy rice tuna sushi at Sokyo. Although, the taste of the two are completely different, this one had much more flavours going on, and they also used ketjap, an Indonesian sweet soy sauce to bring balance to the sushi, but I felt it covered the freshness of the salmon. But, the rice was fried quite well too I must say.

Last of all we ordered the seafood lovers sashimi & sushi platter (AUD$38). Here we could taste the freshness of the salmon really well and it was delicious.
Overall, my partner and I had an enjoyable night eating here. The price is a little bit more than average but still cheaper than Mama-san. I would recommend this place for their plum wine and their seafood platter the most.

KylieCosmetic // Part 1- Guide to shopping and successfully purchasing the lip kits ٩(♥ω♥*)۶

Kylie Jenner had launched Kylie Cosmetics early in 2016 and has swept across the beauty world since. Her lip kits, which include a liquid lipstick and lip liner, retails at US$29. It has been a huge hit not only for the Kylie Jenner fans, but also beauty guru's and on YouTube and make-up lovers too.

THE LIP KITS
The lip kits are extremely desirable as they apparently stay on for an amazing length of time without smudging. Even though there have been a number of releases, purchasing these babies can be tough and it is like competing in the hunger games against the world to win a lip kit over the internet. This is why I will be sharing the process of shopping with Kylie Cosmetics and my tips on how to successfully make a purchase (hopefully!).

RESTOCK ANNOUNCEMENT
So far, Kylie has been restocking her website on a weekly, but sometimes a fortnightly basis and it has been quite consistent. Although, the exact time and dates to shop these lippies are only revealed through her app (which you have to purchase...).
However there are quite a few instagram accounts out there that release this information, which is great for the rest of us who do not wish to purchase her app but do want to get our hands on those lip kits.

Once you know the date and time (usually in pacific time),  convert it back to your local time/date. E.g. 4pm Monday PST = 10am Tuesday AEST (for Sydney-siders). After finding out what time/date the lip kits are released you just wait patiently until that day. Also use your desktop or laptop computer as it makes it much easier and faster to input your information. Speed is key!

SALE DAY & TIME
On the day of the release, I usually head onto the website about 5-10 minutes before the launch time. About a minute away from the launch time, I get ready to refresh the page on the dot. It usually takes about a few seconds after the exact launch time, to see the actual products being available for purchased. Once you can see the products, right click on shades you want and open them up in a separate tab. This will save time on you having to go back and forth, adding each individual shade to your cart.

When you have added the lip kits you want, continue onto the checkout page with the latest tab/last lip kit page you added into your cart. It will show you what shades you have in your cart on the right hand side of the website.

CHECK OUT PROCESS - TYPING SPEED IS ESSENTIAL
Now the first time I purchased the lip kits I had to fill out all my shipping and payment details individually. However, the second time I purchased (as I wanted to get their new shade and a shade that I missed out on the last purchase) I joined up to their VIP sign up the day before the launch. Their VIP sign up will automatically fill out your shipping details and the only information you need to fill out is your payment information which is why I highly recommend signing up so you have less to do when checking out.

When you have proceeded to the checkout page, you will choose your shipping address (if you have signed up then the shipping address is automatically filled!) and method of shipping, which is a flat rate US$14.95 for standard international delivery.

Then, continue onto the next page to choose your payment method. They only accept Master, Visa or AMEX, so do not count on your Paypal to complete your purchase. I usually COPY (Ctrl + C) my credit card number, so that when it comes to payment, you can simply PASTE (Ctrl + V) it in. Once you have completed filling in the payment details, advance onto completing your order.Your order will buffer for about a minute or two, confirming if the shades you want are still available.

WEBSITE CRASHES

There are three situations that can happen, the first situation is the website crashing due to the amount of people on the website. If this occurs, refresh the page and keep refreshing the page until it no longer appears.

SOLD OUT?
The other thing that can happen is, the buffering page which will usually say “Your order is being processed – your wait time is approximately 2 minutes.” However, if a shade is sold out during the buffering, it will take you back to the complete order page to inform you of this information. You will have to click the "complete order" button again if you want to continue purchasing the other shades that you have in your cart. Another way to find if a shade is sold out is when you try to place it into your shopping cart it will show a sold out message.

SUCCESSFUL ORDER!
On the other hand, if your order is successful you will proceed to a page which has an order confirmation number on it and you will also shortly receive an order confirmation email with your order details.

Once you have received your order confirmation email, you just need to wait for your shipping confirmation email. This can take up to 2 weeks for international orders but once you receive this email it will have your package tracking number in it so you can follow the progress of your package to your door.

Thanks for reading and hopefully you find this guide useful. Feel free to share it with everyone you know and hopefully, you have a lot of success using these tips to get your hands on your much-desired lip kits. Once I have received both my orders, I will blog part 2 of the KylieCosmetic blog entry, where I will be doing a lip kit product & swatch review for you guys.

The Lamb Shop // Gold Coast eats Ꮚˊ•⌔•ˋᏊ

During my short trip to the Gold Coast in February I had many wonderful opportunities to eat out with my partner.

One of our favourite places to eat was The Lamb Shop, located in Broadbeach. They are well known for their lamb (duh!) and souvlaki takeaway!

We dined in and ordered a beer each while we waited for our dishes.

I ordered the "Small Plate of slow cooked lamb from the spit with pita bread and tzatziki", AUD$19.50. The lamb was succulent and juicy and the tzatziki balanced out the meaty flavours with the sourness of it.

My boyfriend, Mr.Smiles had ordered the "Souvlaki of spit roasted lamb, onion, tomato, parsley and tzatzik", AUD$13. Once again the combinations of flavours was so good, we actually craved this the following day!

Overall, I really enjoyed eating at The Lamb Shop! They have a small but super delicious menu at super affordable prices! They are extremely busy, pretty much daily so it is best to head in early as they do close when they sell out.

I haven't been uploading any new beauty related videos lately as I am having trouble with lighting these days. I tend to use the natural sunlight and the clouds that gather do have a lovely soft light effect but can be ruined because of other darker shades of clouds interfering. Which is why I shall be heading out to find some lighting gear today and hopefully I will be able to find some I like, because I have a few videos planned already!

Cafe La Plage soft launching the Freak Shakes // Sydney-Bronte eats ⤴︎ ε=ε=(ง ˃̶͈̀ᗨ˂̶͈́)۶ ⤴︎

I came to Bronte for the first time early December last year to taste-test the launch of Cafe La Plage for a friend of mine who worked there.

The modern cafe and restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner at affordable prices and use organic coffee beans, tea's and eggs.

At that time they had just recently opened and my friend wanted to improve the flow of customers coming into the store, so she came up with a plan and invited me to taste test to see what could be improved. Hence some of the shakes you'll see in this blog entry may or may not have made the cut to be on the menu. Also, in the photo above you can see my friend, Dani, trying to take the perfect picture of her creation and the manager of the cafe, Lena, coming to see the creations.

The first freak shake that I tried was the "Chocolate Muffin" shake. When I saw my friend bringing it out, I was already thinking..."How on earth am I going to devour this thing?". It was huge and piled up so high the muffin could fall any minute! But the smart thing was she used a board to display the shake so that any mess would just fall onto the board. Flavour wise, just like your usual chocolate milk shake to be honest.

Next up came their "Oreo" shake, and again I was thinking "OMG, how to even begin!". You can see the icecream is in the way so it was definitely a messy and challenging moment! Out of all the shakes I had tasted that day, this was definitely my favourite because it tasted exactly like it was meant to advertise as!

Next up was "Caramel", now caramel was fun, but it the taste reminded me of popcorn, so that's when I told Dani why not make it into a "Salted Caramel with popcorn" shake instead. As I had already seen so many so much chocolate drizzled on the last two that was in front of me, so something different would be better.

The "Chocolate Chip Cookie" shake was next and it was massive!! Again the shake tasted like your usual average milkshake so there wasn't much to 'wow' about except about the overflowing of goodies.

Next up was "Vanilla & Smores". Dani didn't have the flame torch yet at that time, but I could imagine this being a hit. I haven't heard of a smores milkshake before so this would be interesting!

The cafe manager was nice and made me their granola muesli with seasonal fruit. The gronola was really good!

After taste-testing all the shakes, I thought something was missing and it was "Strawberry". We discussed my ideas of having white chocolate, strawberries and even other fruit shakes or smoothies to the menu to make it more fun. Dani agreed and more shakes were created for the official launch the following weekend. Although I was invited by a friend to taste-test their shakes, free of charge, all my thought and opinions on each individual one is what I really thought about them when I tried them. Nothing really special about the shakes but I mean they are great to take photo's of. Meal wise I haven't had the chance to drop by and eat there (because Bronte is a trek to get to for me), but I shall visit there one day.
