Cavalier Specialty Café // Truffling around (●♡∀♡)

It that time of the year again, truffle season! Last year I went to a few places hunting for delicious truffle dishes, so of course this year there is no exception. First place to fulfill my truffle craves was Cavalier Specialty Cafe located in between Crows Nest and St Leonard. I invited Stephanie since last year she wasn't able to come due to work, so she was quite excited to try it out. You can read last year post on this cafe "here".

Cavalier Specialty Coffee Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

It was a sunny yet chilly Sunday morning and there was already a huge line when I got there. Despite the line, we managed to get our table within 15 minutes or so~ We started off with the Truffle Mocha.
The mocha is brewed with their truffle infused milk which is topped off with a pinch of salt and a few slices of fresh truffle. The mocha had a lovely rich creamy taste and strong truffle aroma's.

Beef Brisket
This 15 hour beef brisket with celeriac cream, hazelnut, nut butter and poached egg was simply delicious. The beef was like butter as I cut through with a butter knife! It was incredible tender and juicy where the umami flavors literally oozed out of the beef. The egg was perfectly poached and I loved the extra crunch texture of the hazelnuts. It was the perfect hearty dish to have on a chilly winter morning. It also comes with a serving of sourdough on the side to soak up the egg yolk and jus from the beef.

Tiramisu French Toast
This year round, I had to order their french toast again. Like last year, their french toast was layered with mascarpone cream, chocolate and dulce de leche coffee cream served on brioche. The only difference was the plating as they used different flowers for decoration.

Pork Neck Paté on Rye
This dish is new this year and it is their Pork neck paté with cheese curd and date vinegar, topped with shaved truffles on rye bread. Now I am allergic to rye so I didn't have any of the bread, but I did use some of the sourdough that came with the beef brisket instead. It all worked out and it tasted lovely. It was not too heavy and the richer flavors of the paté and cheese curd went very well with one another. The date vinegar added a touch of sourness to freshen the dense flavors of the paté and cheese curd.

Overall I had another wonderful experience this year at Cavalier and will be bringing along more friends who have yet to try this place.

If you've been to Cavalier what dishes would you recommend other than the ones above and which is your favorite???
