GRADUATION // Farewell Uni σ(≧ε≦ｏ)

Good afternoon everyone! It has been a little over a month since I graduated from my degree, officially, and it has been a journey since unofficially graduating from my degree(back in June).  

Cafe Oratnek // Japanese Café in Sydney (♥ω♥ ) ~♪

It has been a while since I blogged about a nice cafe around Sydney as most of my posts have been about Japan. Although, today's post is somewhat related to the Japanese culture. Yesterday I met up with an old friend of mine and we've been wanting to go to Cafe Oratnek which is a new-ish Japanese café brunch spot In Redfern.

First thing I ordered off the menu was their Matcha Latte ($4.20/$4.90). I have to say their matcha has that authentic bitterness to it, but it was a bit overwhelming for myself so I added a teaspoon of sugar. If you look at the photo you can see 3 different tones of green which was the froth, matcha residue and the matcha infused milk. The texture of the latte was really smooth and silky which I highly recommend!

As for food we ordered two dishes, the first being their Pork Fillet Katsu Sandwich($10), which I have been constantly seeing on my Instagram feed everyday! So it was one of the dishes that I had to taste with my own tongue and all I can say is...I LOVE IT! The pork katsu is extremely juicy, succulent and tender whilst the outer layer is crunchy! It wasn't heavy at all due to the refreshing cabbage and the seasoning was perfect, which was simply Japanese BBQ sauce & mustard. 

The second dish we ordered was from their breakfast menu, which was their Sautéed mixed of Wild Mushrooms on Toast($13). We also added a poached egg (+$2.50) to complete our brunch. I was absolutely in love with this dish as the miso and butter flavors really seasoned the mushroom and the toast well! It also had some dried chili flakes for that extra punch in taste and the goats cheese and herbs made this dish perfect! 

Last item we ordered was their Matcha Tiramisu, we just couldn't leave without trying at least one of their sweets selection. The texture of the tiramisu cake was incredibly moist, light and fluffy, I couldn't believe my taste buds! Although I would have preferred it to have a stronger matcha flavor like their latte. 

Overall, I didn't experience any Monday Blue symptoms  and I may have found my new "GO-TO" brunch spot for a while! Not only do the dishes taste amazing, it is also relatively cheap, in my opinion! In total we spent only $36.50, where on average we would spent about $50 for a brunch session like this. Simply love this place! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all my Sydney-dwelling readers!

HyunA in Sydney 〜(￣▽￣〜)

I know I haven't been as active on my blog due to assignments all due within these few weeks so yeah! I'll try to squeeze in a bit of blogging every so often from my daily life~!! Reviews will have to wait a bit until my wave of assignments has calmed down!!

Anyways as you know last Sunday, which so happened to be the 1st September, was the start to spring and also the day 4minute, a KPOP girl band, performs in Sydney not only for one show but for TWO shows! 

In afternoon show they were the special judges for the Kpop Dance Cover competition and I had two groups to support that day, 6ixx & DynamikDance!! I'm so proud of my friends as they take the awards for 2nd & 3rd place!! BRAVO! PROUD OF YOU!!!

Anyways, I was pretty lucky to get a ticket to the show since I was really last minute and I completely forgot that Hyuna (Yes! I'm a Hyuna fan~ and so are all my male friends too!) was coming to town, so I asked one of my friends who was performing to see is she had any spare tickets and WOOHOO! She had spares left so YAY! It was time to support my friends and see Hyuna LIVE!!

As I was lining up I already assumed all the good seating's would be taken but to my suprise everyone was aiming for the higher up seats so I scored myself a front row VIP seat! Because...I mean why do I want to take pictures of the back of Hyuna's head right......So yeah I got a pretty good unblocked view and snaps of 4minute!~

The show didn't start until 3pm and ended almost around 6pm, meaning I was late to meet up with my family for Father's Day dinner!! Thankfully I got to the dinner quickly and had a lovely night enjoying dinner with my lovable family!!

Today I headed out to the Smash! Thankyou picnic which was so much fun! Got to catch up with all my good buddies there and now it's time to get all my assignment's done once and for all so I don't leave you guys hanging around reading boring stuff all the time~ :P

Summer day at O-week (≧∇≦)/

Stephanie & I just being US!

Who went out today?? I did because it just so happens to be O-week for a few uni's,(such as UNSW, , USYD, UTS MACQ, etc.). I actually had an appointment with my dear friend Stephanie as i would be her personal tour guide to all the things she must get done before uni starts! O-week, meaning orientation week is full of fun and entertainment, also chances to meet new friends on the spot and of course, to get to know your uni better! I  was actually running a bit late since i was helping my mum in the morning but we didn't miss anything amazing, thank goodness! As we were passing by the commonwealth bank booth, i think a first year? girl was super excited as she asked if i was "that" blogger and i was like yes i am! If you're reading this now i regret not getting your name and a photo with you!!! I loved your reaction and thanks for reading my blog, hope you keep supporting and i shall hopefully see you around uni again sometime. 

So first off we started to get the important stuff done first such as getting my Stephanie's uni ID whereas i had to renew mine, getting a dairy & academic calender from ARC, because it keeps me much more organised! then after that it was time to grab all the freebies possible, play as many games and lucky draws we could find! I have a whole bag of stuff which half of them i don't remember grabbing. We also went into the photo booths too, jammed to the music and being a nice friend, i helped out with my friend society group promotions where we went around handing out flyers~ Did you catch me?

I think my favorite freebie would definitely have to be the red glasses i got from the ACCSOC. guys Thankyou i love them haha! I was definitely not expecting the weather to be so hot since it did say cloudy/possible showers....thank goodness i went with shorts today otherwise i would have melted wearing jeans!

Okay so for all those who are now interested in o-week, why go to o-week?

Well first of all there is the FREEBIES! free drinks, snacks, FOOD, prizes, gifts, coupons, vouchers, etc. everywhere you go! 
There's tonne of games and entertainment to be found and most of the society groups are working hard to get your attention to join their groups as it will bring many new friends, fun and laughter. So basically you can make new friends instantly through those bonds, especially if you joined the tour guides, they will be very helpful. If you joined your faculty's peer mentoring/support groups are even better!! I did the program when i was in first year because i thought it would be good to learn more, such as where everything is around the uni and also meeting people in the same faculty as me! Many who are now good friends of mine!

So it pretty much summed up what i did today but guess what! The fun doesn't stop there, o-week runs for the rest of the entire weekdays so definitely go visit even if you are not going to that uni or not even a uni student just yet, it'd be a great experience and the lucky draws have fabulous prizes. I witnessed someone winning the boombox at the commonwealth wheel of fortune!!! Although i didn't win any grand prize or anything i did win one thing today! I won the favorite book lucky draw where my prize was a bookshop voucher!! YES!! Better than i nothing i say because textbooks can be very expensive!!

This year has been one of the best o-weeks i've ever attended so I will be going to o-week again sometime this week so see if you can catch me there! If you do see me don't be afraid to say hi or take a photo with me, i honestly don't bite and i'm happy to meet you guys too :)
