Four Miles Beach & Port Douglas Surfer Beach Club o(≧∇≦o)

After lunch at the Little Larder, we headed out to Four Mile Beach, which was a 8 minute walk away from our place.

It was a super bright and sunny warm day, so it was perfect weather for the beach. However the waters at Four Mile Beach was not that pleasant as it was 26 degree! It was also murky brownish in colour too...

So we took a quick dip, then walked along the beach instead. It was so beautiful and lovely!! We walked until it was almost sunset, before heading back home for a shower then dinner.

We decided to eat at the Port Douglas Surf Club restaurant, as our driver, Coral and Airbnb host, Karen, had both recommended this place for it's cheap prices and amazing food quality. Apparently the chef had worked for many big hotel companies before opening his own place.

We ordered 3 dishes, which were seafood, pork and salad, which came to a total of

We ordered their salad of arugula, buffalo mozzarella, local fig chutney, crisp prosciutto and rainforest honey dressing. The portions was perfect for two and the decent at AUD$16. However, it was the taste that really grabbed our attention! All the ingredients complimented each other so well, it was light and delicious. I honestly cannot find the words to really describe the flavours, you just really have to try it to understand.

As for our main we decided to get the Twice cooked pork belly, seared scallops, pineapple caramel, smashed green paw paw salad, chicharron and peanuts, at AUD$25. The scallops were cooked perfectly, slightly raw on the inside to create that soft smooth texture, whereas the pork was easily shredded and melted into your mouth instantly! The paw paw salad balanced out and cleansed the palette from that fatty taste, making it a not so guilty meal.

We also decided to get their Peel & eat bucket of local prawns with cocktail sauce, which was AUD$20, because every table had one so we thought we had to have one too. However the prawns are pretty average, nothing super special so if you're not keen you can give this a miss and try more of their other dishes.

By the end of the night, we had literally licked-clean the plates and we decided that we had to come again for round two later on during our trip. Once we paid the bill, we headed back home and slept early as our adventure began bright and early the following morning.
